Title
Kenton Hardware Company Cast-Iron Toy
Caption
This cast-iron ice wagon with a team of horses was made by the Kenton Hardware Company in Ohio, ca. 1893-1925. It measures 5" by 12" by 3" (12 by 31 by 7 cm). The Kenton Hardware Company was promoted as the largest factory in the USA exclusively making cast iron toys at the turn of the twentieth century. One of Hardin Countys largest employers, the factory produced a variety of toys that were miniature versions of fire engines, circus wagons, carriages, banks, trains, and stoves (M00234).
